Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Help From Space, a text-message assistant operated by Lost In The Woods LLC, a Michigan limited liability company ("Help From Space," "we," "us"). By subscribing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Not an emergency service

Help From Space is not an emergency service and does not contact emergency responders. If you are injured, in danger or lost, call 911. With no cell service, use your phone's Emergency SOS via satellite feature. Answers, first aid information and directions are general information only, may be incomplete or wrong, and are not medical, legal or professional advice. Directions do not account for road closures, conditions or traffic. Always use your own judgment.

The Service

Help From Space lets subscribers text our number with questions, such as driving directions, weather, sports scores and general information, and receive automated, AI-generated replies. Replies can be delayed or fail to arrive, especially over satellite connections.

SMS program terms

  • Program name: Help From Space.
  • What you'll receive: replies to the texts you send us, plus a one-time welcome text when you subscribe. We do not send marketing messages.
  • Message frequency varies based on how many texts you send.
  • Message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan for details.
  • Reply HELP for help. You can also email support@helpfromspace.com.
  • Reply STOP to cancel text messages at any time. You will receive one confirmation text, and we will send no further messages. Reply START to resubscribe.
  • Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Your information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Subscriptions and billing

  • Plans are $2.99 per month or $19.99 per year, billed through Stripe in advance.
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time using the billing link in your receipt emails or by emailing support@helpfromspace.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.
  • Replying STOP stops text messages but does not cancel billing. Cancel your subscription separately.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service for anything illegal, to harass others, to send spam, or to try to disrupt or overload it. We may limit message volume to keep the Service fair, and we may suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be accurate, available, uninterrupted or error-free, or that any message will be delivered.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Help From Space is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with an updated date. Continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.
